Rabbi Menachem and Chaya Rivkin, moved out to Hillsboro in 2007, as emissaries of The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson ob”m, and founded Chabad of Hillsboro.  The center has been open and running since January 2007, serving the people of Hillsboro, as well as Jews in the surrounding areas; AlohaBethany and Forest Grove.

Rabbi Schneershon inspired us to reach out to all Jews with unconditional love and to provide an opportunity for meaningful, life enhancing spiritual experiences; through innovative programming, learning and prayer,  all in a non judgmental accepting environment.  The Rebbe also taught us that in our role as a light unto the nations, we must work together with people of good will of all faiths, to make the world a better place.

We are founded on the principle that, while Jews embrace many different levels of observances in their personal lives, there should be a place for all Jews no matter their ‘level’ or style of observance, to join together in unity. It is with this mindset that together we have grown, and continue to grow into the flourishing Jewish community that we are.  Our goal is to create a positive Jewish experience for man, woman, young and old, strengthening their ties to Judaism, and our Jewish community.

Chabad of Hillsboro is a nonprofit organization
